Requirements for Certification
Only an authorized Volvo dealer can certify a Volvo (like your friends at Giles Volvo Cars). Like most CPO programs, Certified by Volvo maintains strict requirements for used Volvo models to meet. After passing the standards set by Volvo for age, mileage and condition, the vehicle is then transferred to our technicians to conduct a thorough inspection covering more than 170 points. They’ll go over functions like the engine, suspension and steering, while also checking interior light bulbs and exterior panels, tires and brakes. Certified FAQs
The Volvo must be no older than five years old and it must have 80,000 miles or fewer with a "clean" Vehicle History Report. After meeting those requirements, it must pass a rigorous inspection that thoroughly checks more than 170 different points.

Yes. You can purchase additional coverage, up to a total of 10 years and unlimited miles, at the time you purchase your Certified by Volvo by purchasing a Certified by Volvo Service Contract plan through your authorized Volvo dealer.
Of course. Once a Volvo is certified, this designation stays with the vehicle. The warranty is fully transferable to the new owner at no charge for the remainder of its lifetime.
